Message from the Managing Director

Greetings!

It is always a joy to hear parents talk about how much their children have benefitted from attending our school. Every child and every family is unique, and our goal is to provide experiences that will scaffold all our students holistically into their next stage of development, especially in their academic studies and character development.
Please take advantage of our various services, and may your children and families be richly blessed during their learning journey with us.

Rhema Support Services (RSS)

As part of the overall goal of further strengthening our support in the different key areas of the school-home partnership, RSS runs a six-session Parenting Essentials (PE) course on Saturday mornings and afternoons, weekday mornings and online. The six topics are (1) Discovering Parenting Styles, (2) Identifying Personalities, (3) Setting Boundaries, (4) Correcting Effectively, (5) Expressing Affection, and (6) Planning Child Development.

Our team of facilitators are not only passionate about guiding and supporting young parents, but they also bring a wealth of expertise and personal experiences to the table. Two of our facilitators hold postgraduate degrees and are registered counsellors with the Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, while others have backgrounds in education or corporate leadership.  Most importantly, they are all parents themselves, with a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of raising children.

The following are the team of facilitators who all have the passion to help guide and support young parents navigate the challenges of raising children.

Teaching Staff

Most Rhema teachers have at least a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and those in active teaching have teaching permits issued by the Sarawak State Education Department. Each class has a main teacher and an assistant teacher for a permitted maximum of 25 children. Language teachers go into the J2 and J3 classes to teach Bahasa Melayu and Chinese.

Our Education Consultant

Dr. Rosalind Tan (PhD Edu) joins the RSS team as an education consultant with over 30 years of experience in Early Years Education and in training teachers and caregivers. Her role is to advise the school on the children’s social-emotional development as part of the commitment to Beyond Education—to educate beyond just the mind

Pastoral Care

The Rhema Support Services team and the Pastoral team from Calvary Family Church are available to provide pastoral care for the staff, children, and their families.

School-Home Support

Tadika Rhema believes in the necessity of a strong school-home connection. The parents are informed of their children’s progress through formal Parent-Teacher Meetings after the mid-year evaluations and report card consultations at the end of the year.
